DESCRIPTION
This limited edition timepiece is within a collection to commemorate the 145th Anniversary of the beginnings of Seiko as a Tokyo clock and watch repair shop in 1881.
Introduced in 1969, the Seiko Speedtimer was a major milestone in chronograph innovation, and marked the beginning of an important decade of the Speedtimer in its prime. It features a dial colour known as ‘Edo Murasaki’ or ‘Edo Purple,’ which is a traditional Japanese colour that symbolises hope for the future, and the refined beauty of the Edo period in Tokyo.
Encased in a bi-colour black and purple aluminium bezel, this chronograph features hour and minute hands that resemble the original Speedtimer from 1969. With 12 spots of Lumibrite, this timepiece is designed to be legible in darker conditions. With a chronograph second scale around the dial ring, the Tachymeter on the bezel measures speed – an iconic element of the original Seiko Speedtimer.
The limited edition is powered by the high-performance in-house V192 solar-powered quartz chronograph movement accurate to +/- 15 seconds per month. With its eco-friendly solar charging from natural or artificial light it has a six-month power reserve.
Prospex is a combination of the words ‘Professional’ and ‘Specifications.’ Seiko Prospex timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable; to meet the high standards required in extreme environments for sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.
